Mr. Stanley Sheffield's third grade class invited Principal Dr. Chandra Watkins to their classroom library ribbon cutting ceremony.
During the ceremony Mr. Sheffield explained the benefits of having a classroom library, the rules for using the library, and issued all of the students a library card. Both Mr. Sheffield and Dr. Watkins read a book to the students.
After reading her favorite book, The Little Engine That Could by Michaela Muntean, Dr. Watkins taught a short mini lesson to the students to check for understanding.
The class is excited to have a new library of their own!
