Greetings, Students, Parents, and Charger Family!
I would like to welcome you back to another school year, and I hope that each of you had an enjoyable summer. We had a busy 2023-2024 school year, and overall, it was a good year.
As we move into the 2024-2025 school year, we will "Stand on Business" and continue to work hard towards proficiency. We will focus on academic achievement in all areas and in every grade.
Because we have the best students, with the best faculty and staff, and the best parents, W.J. Christian K-8 School had significant accomplishments last year. Let's reflect
Our school's Report Card grade is an A!
We were named an A+ College Ready's "School of Excellence".

Our Academic Bowl Team won the district's Academic Bowl Competition.
Our 7th Grade and 8th Grade Math Teams won Ist place in the Perennial Math Competition, and we had individual winners as well in the district, state and on the national level.
We planned our Engineering Academy, which will launch this year, and we will be the only K-8 Birmingham City School with an Engineering Academy.
We won the Ed Farm App Development Challenge. As a result, Apple will sponsor those students' project, and it will be placed in the Apple Store.
Two students won the district's Science Fair and placed 3rd in the State's Science Fair Competition.
We had one student to participate in the Alabama All State Choir.
Our Choir received superior ratings during their All-City Evaluations.
Our Band received all superior ratings during their All-City Evaluations and the Six Flags Over Georgia Music Festival.
We had students the in 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades who won the Dream Architecture Art Contest.
Our 6th Grade Girls and Boys Newcomb Teams and Volleyball Team completed their seasons undefeated, each winning another championship.
Our 6th Grade Girls Basketball Team won the district championship.
Our 6th grade Softball Team and Middle School Softball Team won the district championship.
Our Baseball Team won the district championship.
Those were just a few of our important highlights of the 2023-2024 school year. We have one mission, one vision, one goal... Champions! And with that being said, we want to work like "Champions" every day.
To our parents and guardians, it is vital that we continue to have the support of everyone because we have high expectations for all students at W.J. Christian. Our number one priority is Academic Excellence (teaching and learning).
If you have questions, please call or come to the school. Once again, welcome.
