Hi, I'm Belinda M. Taylor

GO MUSTANGS!!! Pleasant greetings to you!

As a Counselor, I believe that all students are important.  My favorite quote is:

"A HUNDRED YEARS from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove....but the world may be different because I WAS IMPORTANT IN THE LIFE OF A CHILD."     F. Whitcraft

As a School Counselor, my primary responsbility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all students.  I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families and community stakeholders.

**Greetings to all,**

I am a career educator with a deep passion for teaching and learning. I thrive on solving problems and helping children work through theirs. Born in Marengo County, AL, a rural area in central west Alabama, I have always cherished the values of education and community.

I completed my high school education at Amelia Love Johnson High School (Go Eagles) in Thomaston in, AL. During my senior year, I joined the Alabama Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge in February 2002. This experience instilled in me the values of discipline and service.

I pursued higher education at Alabama A&M University (Go Bulldogs), where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a dual certification in Elementary Education. My journey in education didn't stop there; I went on to complete a Master's in Education from the University of West Alabama, specializing in school counseling/guidance and obtaining certification in instructional leadership.

I further enhanced my expertise by earning an Education Specialist Degree in School Counseling. In 2022, I completed the Alabama State Department Specialized Training in the Science of Reading (LETRS). These accomplishments reflect my unwavering commitment to becoming a more effective and knowledgeable educator.

Currently, I am in my second year at the University of Alabama, working towards a PhD in Instructional Leadership with a concentration in instructional technology. My lifelong dedication to education and my desire to make a positive impact in the lives of God's children drive me forward.

I firmly believe in the words of John F. Kennedy: "A child miseducated is a child lost." This quote resonates deeply with me and inspires my work every day.

On a more personal note, I have two children, Christian Shane and Bella Lucy, who rest with the Lord. They are always in my heart.

In my spare time, I love traveling to new places, exploring historical museums, singing, and helping people. These activities enrich my life and keep me connected to the world around me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my biography. I am committed to making a difference in the lives of the children I encounter and to continue my journey as a lifelong learner.
