Greetings Parents and Students!
I am Jennifer Gilbert, Career Academy Coordinator for both the Academy of Engineering and the Academy of Law here at Ramsay IB High School. Prior to beginning my role as coordinator, I taught the PLTW Engineering elective courses for students in the Academy since the inaugural cohort in 2016. These courses included Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Digital Electronics, and PLTW Capstone.
I am a native of Fairfield, AL and a graduate of John Carroll Catholic High School. I received a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of Montevallo, and an M.S. degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I began my teaching career in Birmingham City Schools at Center Street Middle School, 2009-2013 and J.H. Phillips Academy, 2013-2014. I have been at Ramsay High School since 2014 and have taught a wide range of advanced mathematics and Engineering courses.
I am excited about creating opportunities for students to grow and learn while preparing them to be college, career, and life-ready through our fantastic academy programs. I am extremely passionate about education and I try to instill a passion for learning in my students. I firmly believe that all students can achieve greatness when provided with the appropriate resources and experience to do so. Feel confident in knowing that my best interest lies with students and that I will work hard to promote their success.
I look forward to working with our outstanding students and parents! If I can be of assistance to you in any way, don't hesitate to reach out to me.
Be Well and GO RAMS!!!!!
Ms. Gilbert
