Hello My name is Mrs. Byrd and I am the school librarian at Ossie Ware Mitchell Middle School. I have over 25 years of experience in the field of education and I enjoy working with children to help them to achieve success. Prior to working here at Mitchell Middle, I have also worked at Arrington Middle School as a school librarian and taught 3rd grade for several years at Barrett Elementary school. 

Education: 

I attended the University of Alabama Birmingham where I received both a B.S. and M.S. in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I also attended Alabama State University where I received Library Media Education Certification. 

In my spare time,  I love  traveling and spending time with my family.
