The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Junior Chapters at A.H Parker High School, Ramsay I.B. High School and G.W Carver High School celebrated students who participated in year-long engineering events during a luncheon at Alabama Power today.
Sponsored by the Birmingham Chapter of the Links Incorporated and Alabama Power, the luncheon featured keynote speaker Dr. Julian Jackson, whose speech focused on reimagining your dreams. He also presented the students with dental supplies and gift cards for those who are interested in dentistry.
Over the academic year, the students participated in numerous engineering-focused events, including E-Day at Auburn, dual enrollment abroad in Japan, FRC Robotics, McWane Robotics and RYLA-NASA Leadership Academy.
Thanks to faculty sponsors Christopher Lang, Mychal Thomas, Jennifer Gilbert, Dr. Christine Hall and Jerelle Hendon for leading this initiative. Kudos to the amazing students on their outstanding efforts. Special thanks to BCS Strategies & Communications Department for always capturing our photos and the Birmingham Chapter of the Links, Incorporated and Alabama Power for facilitating the luncheon.
