backpack blessings full moon bbqNew Life Birmingham is hosting an event called Operation We Care on Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with free school supplies and food plus giveaways. They are located at 9553 Parkway East, Birmingham, AL 35215 (map).

Central Alabama Wellness is holding a back to school event on Saturday, July 20 at Old Mill Square, 105 West College Street, Columbiana, AL (map) at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. They will have free school supplies, prevention information, community vendors, and fun for the whole family! Wettermark Keith is giving out 1,000 school supply boxes and clear drawstring backpacks to families at need. The law firm will be at Wylam Elementary, 701 Erie Street, Birmingham, AL 35224 (directions) on Saturday, July 20 at 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. or until supplies last. Click here for more details.

Sixteenth Street Baptist Church is throwing a Back to the '90s back to school benefit concert on Sunday, July 21 at 3:30 p.m. Free school supplies will be available for K-12 students. The church is located at 1530 6th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL 35203 (directions). More details here.

back to the 90's benefit concert at 16th Street Baptist ChurchOCALA will be at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 80 Saint Thomas Way, Montevallo, AL 35115 (directions) on Saturday, July 27 at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The organization will give out backpacks and school supplies and offer free health exams and HIV testing with no appointment or ID needed. Sponsors will also have gifts and information for attendees.

RECH will distribute donated school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, rulers, scissors, glue, and more, to K-12 students at The Hub, 873 Dennison Avenue SW, Birmingham, AL 35211 (directions) on Saturday, July 27 at noon until 3 p.m.

Back To School Rally and Fun Day will take place at Midfield Community Center. 410 Grant St, Midfield, AL 35228, (directions) on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. School Supplies will be given away while supplies last, but students must be present to receive them. The Cornell Lewis Foundation will host its ninth annual Back 2 School Rally on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 2:30 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Helena Sports Complex at 110 Sports Complex Drive, Helena, AL 35080 (directions). The organization will give away free school supplies while supplies last, so get there early! The event is free and open to the public.
