Are you a Birmingham City Schools high school teacher who is interested in teaching dual enrollment courses to students on your campus? BCS has a unique opportunity for select teachers to engage in the coursework free of charge, which will count toward the required approved 18 graduate hours in the discipline to be taught.
Transcript from an accredited institution with an earned Master's Degree in ANY field (conferral date must be included)
Eighteen (18) approved graduate hours in the course that will be taught
Pre-approval by Jeff State is required before the teacher starts a course
Courses must have a prefix in the discipline biology, computer science, English, math, etc.) and may not be ED or other prefixes.
Courses may NOT include "for teachers" or "secondary teachers" in the title or description, even if they start with BIO, CS, ENG, MTH, etc. The community college accreditor will not accept these courses.
