Learn core strategies designed to increase students' reading comprehension skills. Topics include: how to select texts for instruction; ways to teach and assess academic vocabulary and reading fluency; and strategies to help students meet rigorous expectations in key ideas and details, craft and structure, and integration and synthesis of concepts when reading complex texts.

Strengthening Formative Assessment and Feedback

Learn a variety of strategies for strengthening teachers' use of evidence-based formative assessments and the feedback cycle to increase student achievement. Participants engage in a series of activities to reflect upon their current formative assessment practices and to enhance these to better support student learning. Participants also learn how to identify student misconceptions and to provide feedback and corrective action instruction.
