The Information Management Services (IMS) department provides district-wide services for collecting, maintaining, archiving, managing and delivering timely and accurate data and information to support the vision and mission of the Birmingham City Schools system.

The IMS department provides leadersip in designing, developing, implementing, validating and supporting applications of technology that aid in the education of the children of the Birmingham City School System. The department also provides data processing services to administrators, teachers and support staff, enabling them to make decisions that improve administrative efficiency and effectiveness, thereby contributing to a quality education for all BCS students.
