Woodlawn High School’s Ms. Coratta Towns-Oliver is the latest teacher to receive a One Class At A Time Grant from Chick-fil-A and CBS 42!
Representatives from Chick-fil-A presented Ms. Towns-Oliver with a check for $1,000 during a surprise visit on Nov. 12. CBS 42 filmed the encounter and featured Ms. Towns-Oliver and her class during the 5 p.m. news broadcast tonight.
A ninth grade English teacher, Ms. Towns-Oliver will use the funds to purchase computers for her classroom to help scholars prepare for the ACT, provide ESL students with interactive and translation services, and create a space for a school writing/newsletter club to hone their writing skills.
