Today is Thundering Herd Day! Mayor Randall Woodfin and Councilor Darrell O'Quinn presented the 6A football state champions to the Birmingham City Councilthis morning. The council unanimously passed a resolution honoring the team, with the Mayor Woodfin also issuing a proclamation declaring Dec. 17, 2024 as A.H. Parker Thundering Herd Day. The Young Alabama Writers Project (YAWP!) held a book signing for Screened, a collection of essays written by BCS students about the impacts of technology on culture, at Carver High School today. Students had the opportunity to read a passage from their essays then sign copies of the book for faculty, staff, and parents in attendance.
