National Board Certification

National Board Certification image

National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in education and provides numerous benefits to teachers, students and schools. It was created to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide.

How to get started with National Board Teacher Certification?

National Board Certified Teacher Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for certification, teachers must meet education, licensure and employment requirements. Teachers will be asked to very this information upon registration. Teachers will be required to:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree;

  • Have completed three years of successful teaching or school counseling;

  • Possess a valid state teaching license or school counseling license;

  • Prerequisite for World Languages candidates: In addition to the candidate eligibility requirements. World Languages candidates must provide official American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) certified ratings of Advanced Low or higher from ACTFL speaking and writing proficiency assessments.
