Visual Communication
Do you love finding the perfect filter for your pictures on social media? Does designing logos, flyers, websites, or even movie posters peak your interest? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should explore the Academy of Visual Communications. In this exciting Academy, you will explore the many careers in the field of graphic art.
During your freshman year, you will take Career Prep and learn more about the professions that rely on a background in graphic design. You can even take Visual Arts to get a head start on artistic design.
As you enter your sophomore year, you will take Intro to Graphic Design and learn how messages, mediums, and methods are used to communicate ideas as you experiment with design and learn how to safely work and care for industry equipment.
During your junior year you will enter the class of Digital File Preparation in Graphic Arts and become more versed in Adobe platforms to create designs. You may find yourself designing flyers, posters, or newsletters for your school, businesses, or community organizations.
As you prepare to graduate your senior year, you will take Advanced Digital File Preparation. In this course, you will expand your graphic design skills on industry tools and work towards gaining certifications that will equip you to be industry ready upon graduation.
The Academy of Visual Communications includes Animation and TV Production. Students enter this academy and choose one of these pathways.
