South Hampton K-8 Team

South Hampton K-8 School emerged victorious in the finals of the Altec Challenge, held at the company’s Birmingham office today. 

The winning team receives $10,000 from Altec to implement its project, a community-based vending machine, dubbed the Hygiene Hub, to share diapers and other sanitary and hygiene products.

Held annually, the Altec Challenge gives students the opportunity to identify community challenges and develop technology-based solutions. Past winners have addressed challenges such as recycling and growing healthy food.
