Ramsay math teacher Trinity McRae and her 12th grade math class

Ms. Trinity McRae, 12th grade math teacher at Ramsay High School, has one thousand more things to be thankful for this holiday season.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, Chick-fil-A and CBS 42 made a surprise visit to Ms. McRae’s class to present her with a $1,000 check as part of the One Class At A Time program.

“When I began working with the team, we had no members, and it was only through collaboration with the other math teachers that we could recruit. Despite the team's collective inexperience, our team managed to place in every competition it participated in,” said Ms. McRae.

However, the team has faced funding challenges recently, which led Ms. McRae to apply for the One Class At A Time grant.

Ms. McRae and her math classes were featured during tonight’s CBS News local broadcast. She joins BCS colleagues Woodlawn High School's Coratta Towns-Oliver and Phillip Academy's Talisa Phillips as recent recipients of the grant.
