Dorine James, a fifth grade English language arts teacher at Princeton Alternative Elementary School, is the latest recipient of the “One Class At A Time” grant.
Representatives from Chick-fil-A (including the cow mascot) and CBS 42, along Instructional Superintendent Dr. Gwendolyn Tilghman, Principal Bruce Jackson, her fifth grade students and her daughter, surprised Ms. James with a check for $1,000 during a secret presentation on Feb. 14. CBS 42 featured Ms. James and her students during the News at 5 broadcast this evening.
The grant will enable Ms. James to purchase tools and materials that enhance classroom activities and provide incentives that celebrate their hard work and achievements.
“I’m committed to providing my students with meaningful and enriching learning experiences. While my students are bright, capable, and supported at home, I want to ensure they have access to resources that elevate their education and make learning even more engaging,” said James. “With your support, I can create opportunities for my students that inspire, motivate, and help them thrive.”
