Amanda Metcalfe, a teacher at A.H. Parker High School, is the winner of the Heart of Education Award for January 2025.
Representatives from Drummond Company, Inc. and ABC 33/40 presented Mrs. Metcalfe with a check for $1,000 during a surprise visit to the school last week.
“Drummond Company understands how valuable teachers are to our community. Teachers are the heart of education. They work with our children every day to help shape our future generations. We know that teachers work with limited classroom resources and their work is challenging and often under-appreciated. Drummond wants you to help us recognize some of the dedicated teachers who have had a positive, lasting impact on our children and their future," the company said in a statement.
